Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement


Tools Required
* J 39232 Wiper Linkage Separator
* J 39529 Wiper Linkage Installer



Removal Procedure

1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement (Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement) .
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the wiper drive system module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement (Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement) .




4. Using J 39232 , disconnect the wiper transmission links from the wiper motor crank arm.




5. Remove the 2 wiper motor bolts.
6. Remove the spacer (1) from the wiper drive system module (2)
7. Remove the wiper motor (3) from the wiper drive system module (2).
8. Remove the wiper motor module support bracket (4) from the wiper motor (3). Refer to Wiper Motor Module Support Bracket Replacement (Wiper Motor Module Support Bracket Replacement) .



Installation Procedure





1. Install the wiper motor module support bracket (4) to the wiper motor (3). Refer to Wiper Motor Module Support Bracket Replacement (Wiper Motor Module Support Bracket Replacement) .
2. Position the wiper motor (3) to the wiper drive system module (2).
3. Position the spacer (1) to the wiper drive system module (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Install the 2 wiper motor bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).





5. Install the wiper transmission links onto the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39529 .




6. Install the wiper drive system module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement (Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement) .
7. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement (Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement) .
9. Inspect the washers for proper operation.
