Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
3. Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
4. Remove the drive belt from crankshaft balancer, drive belt tensioner and air conditioning compressor. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement Service and Repair.




5. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor wiring harness plug (3).
6. Unclip the air conditioning compressor wiring harness from the 2 retainer clips (1) and (2).

Note: Do not remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose from air conditioning compressor.

7. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the air conditioning compressor bracket and hang aside. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LUJ) Air Conditioning Compressor ReplacementAir Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.8L LUW) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.




8. Remove the 3 air conditioning compressor bracket bolts (1).
9. Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the air conditioning compressor and power steering pump bracket (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the 3 air conditioning compressor bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
3. Install the air conditioning compressor to air conditioning compressor bracket. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LUJ) Air Conditioning Compressor ReplacementAir Conditioning Compressor Replacement (1.8L LUW) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
4. Install the drive belt to crankshaft balancer, drive belt tensioner and air conditioning compressor. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Close the hood.
