Front Brake Hose Replacement (J57)
Removal Procedure
Warning:
Refer to Brake Dust Warning Brake Dust Warning.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
Caution:
Disc brake rotor protectors MUST be installed prior to tire and wheel assembly removal to avoid ceramic brake rotor damage due to contact between the tire and wheel assembly and the rotor. If the ceramic brake rotor is damaged replacement may be required.
2. Install the disc brake rotor protectors and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.
3. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting (1).
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
4. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt (1).
5. Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).
Note:
Do not reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.
6. Remove and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets (2).
7. Remove the brake hose (3).
Installation Procedure
1. Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) and 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the brake hose assembly to the caliper and tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
3. Install the brake hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Connect the brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
5. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure).
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly and remove the disc brake rotor protectors. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.
