Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the battery cables (1) from the oil level indicator tube bracket (2).

2. Remove the oil level indicator (3).





3. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt (1).

4. Remove the oil level indicator tube (2) by sliding the tube out from the lower crankcase hole.





5. Remove and discard the O-ring from the oil level indicator tube if damaged.

Installation Procedure





1. Install a NEW O-ring on the oil level indicator tube.

2. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil.





3. Install the oil level indicator tube (2) by sliding the tube down through the lower crankcase hole.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

4. Install the oil level indicator tube bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).





5. Install the oil level indicator (3).

6. Secure the battery cables (1) to the oil level indicator tube bracket (2).
