Camshaft Position Actuator Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Exhaust

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the right hand secondary camshaft intermediate drive chain. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Replacement - Right Side (Secondary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Replacement - Right Side).
2. Use an open end wrench on the hex cast into the camshaft in order to prevent engine rotation when loosening the camshaft position actuator bolt.
3. Remove the right exhaust camshaft position actuator bolt (1).
4. Remove the right exhaust camshaft position actuator (2).
5. Remove the camshaft thrust washer (3), if applicable.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the exhaust camshaft position actuator. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Installation - Right Side Exhaust (108. Camshaft Position Actuator Installation - Right Side Exhaust).
2. Install the right side secondary camshaft intermediate drive chain. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Replacement - Right Side (Secondary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Replacement - Right Side).
