Carpet - Removal
REMOVAL
FRONT CARPET
NOTE: The front carpet consists of two individual carpets, one for the driver side and one for the passenger side. These carpets can be removed from and installed into the vehicle individually.
NOTE: Driver side carpet shown in all views except where noted.
1. Remove the driver and/or passenger front seat from the vehicle as appropriate, Seat - Removal.
2. Remove the center console from the front floor panel transmission tunnel, Floor Console - Removal.
3. Remove the trim from the driver or passenger side lower cowl side inner panel as appropriate,Cowl Trim Panel - Removal.
4. Using an appropriate tool, cut a slice (1) into the driver side carpet area between the instrument panel lower support bracket and the inboard carpet edge.
5. Using an appropriate tool, cut a slice (1) into the passenger side carpet area between the instrument panel lower support bracket and the inboard carpet edge.
6. Pull the carpet out from the instrument panel lower bracket.
7. Remove the two push-pin fasteners (1) that secure the outboard edge of the front carpet (3) to the front door opening sill.
8. On the driver side only, remove the push-pin fastener (2) that secures the front carpet to the cowl side inner panel above the foot rest.
9. On the driver side only, remove the push-pin fastener (3) that secures the inboard edge of the front carpet (1) to the transmission shifter bracket (2).
10. Remove the front carpet from the floor panel.
REAR CARPET
1. Remove the driver and passenger front seats from the vehicle, Seat - Removal.
2. Remove the center console from the front floor panel transmission tunnel, Floor Console - Removal.
3. Remove the front carpet on both sides of the vehicle.
4. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle, Seat Cushion Cover - Removal.
5. Remove the lower quarter trim panel, Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
6. Remove the sill plates.
7. Remove the push-pin fasteners that secure the rear carpet (1).
8. Lift the rear carpet (1) from the floor panel far enough to extract the body wire harness take outs and connectors through the appropriate slits in the carpeting.
9. Remove the rear carpet (1) from the vehicle.
