Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the headlamp switch position by sending out voltage reference signals to the headlamp switch. If a problem is detected with the headlamp switch signal circuit (8-LE21), the headlamp switch signal return circuit (9-LE29) or the headlamp switch itself, the instrument cluster will default the headlamps and parking lamps ON. When the headlamp switch is in the headlamps ON position, the instrument cluster sends a signal to the front electronic module (FEM) to illuminate the headlamps.
Possible Causes
- headlamp switch
- FEM
- instrument cluster
