Normal Operation
The steering column telescopic motor receives information from the potentiometer when a memory position is requested. The potentiometer sends the telescopic motor position information to the Instrument Cluster Module (ICM) where it is stored and is used when several adjustable features are requested. The potentiometer sends the steering column telescopic position to the ICM through circuit 8-AL16 (WH/BK).

Possible Causes
^ circuit 8-AL17 (WH/VT) open, short to power or ground
^ telescopic motor potentiometer
^ steering column mechanical component
^ ICM

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
