Exhaust Flexible Pipe

NOTE: This procedure is for all Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV). The non-PZEV exhaust flexible pipe is part of the catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to Catalytic Converter [1][2]Catalytic Converter.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. NOTICE: Do not excessively bend or twist the exhaust flexible pipe. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the exhaust flexible pipe.

Support the exhaust flexible pipe with a support wrap or suitable splint.





3. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flexible pipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly nuts.
- Discard the gasket.

- To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

4. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flexible pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts and remove the exhaust flexible pipe.
- Discard the gasket.

- To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new gaskets and nuts.
