Hatch Support Strut Replacement

NOTE:

- Have an assistant hold the tailgate up while you replace the support struts.
- Use eye protection when doing this procedure.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Have an assistant hold the tailgate up. Pry the support strut clips (A) with a flat-tip screwdriver from each end of the support strut (B) at the hatch and the body, then release the support strut from the pivot bolts (C). Do not remove the clips from the support strut.






2. Remove the bolts, and remove the bracket (A) from the hatch, then remove the pivot bolt (B).






3. Reinstall the pivot bolts and the bracket. Set the clips (A) to the original position, then reattach the support strut (B) on the pivot bolts (C) by pushing on the support strut.
