Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - No sound is heard from subwoofer ('08-10 models without premium audio system)

No sound is heard from subwoofer ('08-10 models without premium audio system)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Disconnect active noise cancellation unit 24P connector.

2. Check for continuity between body ground and active noise cancellation unit 24P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 13 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the active noise cancellation unit 24P connector and the subwoofer.�

NO -

Go to step 3.

3. Measure the resistance between active noise cancellation unit 24P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 13.





Is there about 4 Ohms ?

YES -

Substitute a known-good active noise cancellation unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original active noise cancellation unit. If symptom is still present, replace the subwoofer Speaker Test/Replacement.�

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Check the subwoofer 2P connector for a loose or poor connection.

Reconnect the subwoofer connector, and recheck the symptom; is the condition still present?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure. Operation is normal.�

5. Test the subwoofer Speaker Test/Replacement.

Is the subwoofer OK?

YES -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire(s) between the active noise cancellation unit and the subwoofer.�

NO -

Replace the subwoofer Speaker Test/Replacement.�
