Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement

Removal

NOTE: Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to Precautions and Procedures Service and Repair.

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation (USA/Canada).

3. Remove the front seat cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (USA/Canada).

4. Remove the bolts (A) from the seat cushion frame (B), then pull up the front side of the seat cushion frame.






5. With an assistant holding the seat cushion frame (A), remove the nuts (B) from the seat frame (C).






6. Disconnect the front passenger's seat wire harness 2P connectors from the front passenger's weight sensor 2P connectors (A).

7. Remove the nuts (B) from the seat foot brackets (C), then using a TORX T27 bit, remove the tamper-resistant TORX bolts (D) that attach the seat slide/up-down adjusters (E) to the weight sensors (F).

Installation

NOTE: Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfering with other parts.

1. Install and torque the new front passenger's weight sensors (A) with new TORX bolts (B), using a TORX T27 bit under the seat slide/up-down adjuster (C), then install the seat foot brackets (D) with new nuts (E).

2. Reconnect the front passenger's seat wire harness 2P connectors to the front passenger's weight sensor 2P connectors (F).

3. With an assistant holding the seat cushion frame (A), install the seat frame (B) with the mounting nuts (C).






4. Install the seat cushion frame (A) with the mounting bolts (B).






5. Reinstall the front seat cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (USA/Canada).

6. Reinstall the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation (USA/Canada).

7. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.

8. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

9. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization ODS Unit Initialization.

10. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
