NOTE:
^ Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot.
^ This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Check the TP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is there about 0.5 V when the throttle is fully closed and about 4.5 V when the throttle is fully opened?
YES- Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the TP sensor, the TCM, and at the ECM.
NO- Go to step 3.
3. Check the DTCs with HDS.
Is DTC P0123 indicated?
YES- Do the DTC Troubleshooting for the TP sensor circuit high voltage. Recheck for DTC P1783 after troubleshooting.
NO- Substitute a known-good TCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good TCM, replace the original TCM.
