DTC 92-1x

DTC 92-1x (92-10 to 92-19,92-1A to 92-1F): Open in the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator

1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and DTC 92-1 x indicated?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures
If another DTC is indicated, Go to the DTC Troubleshooting Index. Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions

3. Check the connection between the dashboard wire harness 5P connector and the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator.
4. Erase the DTC memory.
5. Read the DTC.

Is DTC 92-1x indicated?

YES - Repair the poor connections and retest. If DTC 92-1x is still present, Go to step 6.

NO - Go to step 6.

6. Check the No. 7 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

Is the fuse OK?

YES - Go to step 7.

NO - Replace the fuse, then turn the ignition switch ON (II). If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. 7 (10 A) fuse circuit (dashboard wire harness).

7. Disconnect the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 5P connector.
8. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).




9. Check for voltage between the No. 1 terminal of the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 5P connector and body ground. There should be battery voltage.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 10.

NO - Open in the dashboard wire harness or floor wire harness; check for poor connection at C206. If the connection is OK, replace the faulty wire harness.

10. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
11. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P) from the SRS unit.




12. Check resistance between the No. 5 terminal of the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 5P connector and the No. 12 terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P). There should be 0-1.0 ohm.

Is the resistance as specified?

YES - Check for a faulty SRS unit or passenger's airbag cutoff indicator; replace the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator. If the problem is still present, replace the SRS unit.

NO - Open in the dashboard wire harness or floor wire harness; replace the faulty harness.
