Engine Oil Pan Removal

Special Tools Required

- 1.8 support eyelet 07AAK-SNAA400
- 1.8 support bolt 07AAK-SNAA500
- Engine support hanger, A and Reds AAR-T1256*
- 2006 Civic engine hanger VSB02C000025*
*: These special tools are available through Honda Tool and Equipment Program.

1. If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to step 12.

2. Remove the drive belt. Drive Belt Removal/Installation

3. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud. Heater Unit/Core Replacement (With A/C)

4. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector, then remove the harness clamp Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses.. Engine Removal

5. Remove the intake air duct. Service and Repair

6. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Service and Repair

7. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

8. Remove the splash shield. Engine Removal

9. Drain the engine oil. Service and Repair

10. Remove exhaust pipe A. Engine Removal

11. Lower the vehicle on the lift.

12. Remove the air cleaner mounting bracket, and install the 18 support eyelet (07AAK-SNA400) behind the breather pipe and down to the threaded hole on the cylinder head.. Engine Removal

13. Attach the 18 support eyelet to the cylinder head with the 1.8 support bolt (07AAK-SNAA500). Tighten the bolt by hand.. Engine Removal

14. Install the front leg assembly, the hook, and the wing nut to an A and Reds engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) on to the 2006 civic engine hanger (VSB02C000025) Carefully position the engine hanger on the vehicle, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the support eyelet. Tighten the wing nut by hand to lift and support the engine/transmission.. Engine Removal

15. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

16. Remove the lower torque rod. Engine Removal

17. Remove the lower torque rod bracket.

A/T model





18. Remove the A/C compressor bracket.






19. A/T model: Remove the shift cable cover.






20. Remove the clutch cover/torque converter cover (A), and remove the two bolts securing the transmission.

21. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.






22. Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the lower block in the places shown.

23. Remove the oil pan.
