Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service Precautions before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panel.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Remove these items:

- Rear trim panel
- Front floor cover
- Rear seat cushion
- Rear seat side bolster
- Tailgate weatherstrip, as needed Service and Repair

2. Fold down the rear seat-back.

3. Remove the damper maintenance cover (A).

1. Pass the seat belt (B) through the slit.

2. Gently pull out the cover by hand to release the hooks (C).





4. Pry out the cap (A) with the appropriate trim tool, and remove the bolt, then remove the tie down hook (B).






5. Remove the remote fold down handle (A).

1. Push on the hook (B) with the appropriate trim tool, and pull back the inner handle cap (C), then remove it.

2. Remove the screws.





6. Release the rear side trim panel (A) from the body.

1. Detach the clip (B).

2. Pull the front area of the panel inward to release it from the rear seat-back striker (C).

3. Gently pull out the upper edge of the panel to release the hooks (D), the tab (E), and the clips (F) from the quarter pillar trim (G).

4. Pull out the panel to detach the clips (H).

5. Left side: Disconnect the cargo area light connector (I) and the cargo area accessory power socket connector (J).





7. Remove the remote fold down handle (A) from the rear side trim panel (B).

1. While holding the panel away from the body, release the remote fold down lever cable (C) from the cable hooks (D).

2. Pull out the handle to release it from the clips (E) and the hooks (F).





8. Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips, the hooks, and the tab into place securely.
