Steering Wheel

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

- Tools Required
- J1859 - 03 Steering Wheel Puller
- J38720 Side Screw

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.





2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module (5). Refer to Infl Rst Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
3. Remove the nut (3).
4. Observe the mark on the steering shaft and the steering wheel in order to ensure proper alignment during installation.





5. Remove the steering wheel, using the following tools:
- The J1859 - 03
- The J38720

6. Use the correct side screws for pulling the wheel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Route the wiring through the steering wheel.
2. Align the mark on the steering wheel with the mark on the shaft.
3. Install the steering wheel.
4. Install the nut (3).
5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Infl Rst Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint.
