Suspension General Diagnosis



Symptoms - Suspension General Diagnosis

Important: Review the system descriptions in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to Front Suspension Description and Operation and to Rear Suspension Description and Operation.

Visual/Physical Inspection

1. Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the suspension system.
2. Inspect the easily accessible or visible suspension components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
3. Verify the tires are the proper size. Refer to Tire Placard.
If the tires are not the proper size, replace the tires.
4. Measure the tire pressure. Adjust the tire pressure if necessary.

Intermittent Conditions

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Diagnostic Aids. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
