Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Inspection





1. Visually inspect the adjuster spring (23) for the following:

* Excessive corrosion
* Excessive stretching
* Broken hook ends
* Twisting or binding
* Missing

2. Visually inspect the adjuster actuator lever (24) for the following conditions:

* Bent
* Broken
* Missing
* Broken spring attachment tab

3. Visually inspect the adjuster (7,9,10) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion
* Broken
* Binding
* Missing

4. Replace the drum brake adjusting hardware if necessary. Refer to Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement (Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement).
