Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Right Front

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (SIR Caution).
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
3. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
4. Remove the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




7. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (3) and the bolt (2).
8. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide (1).




9. Disconnect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).




10. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The upper bolt (3)
* The lower bolt (6)
* The front seat belt retractor (7)




Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

1. Install the front seat belt retractor (7) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the upper bolt (3) and the lower bolt (6).

* Tighten the front seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
* Tighten the front seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).






2. Connect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).




3. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide (1). Secure with bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

4. Install the front seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (3).
5. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).




8. Install the lower anchor bolt (5) to the front lower anchor.

Tighten the bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

9. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
