Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement


Removal Procedure

Warning:Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .
Danger:To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
1.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.Remove the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement Service and Repair .

3.Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

4.Remove the front energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .

5.Remove the washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement .





6.Remove the ambient temperature sensor (1) by squeezing locking tabs and pushing sensor.





7.Remove the front bumper impact bar to front end module retaining bolt (1). Repeat for opposite side.





8.Remove the front bumper impact bar to front end module retaining bolts (1).

9.Remove the front bumper impact bar from the front end module.

Installation Procedure

1.Install the front bumper impact bar to the front end module.

Caution:Refer to Fastener Caution .





2.Install the front bumper impact bar to front end module retaining bolts (1).

2.1Install the inboard bolt on the right side first.

2.2Install the inboard bolt on the left side second.

2.3Install the remaining outboard bolts third and tighten in the above sequence to22 N �m (16 lb ft).





3.Install the front bumper impact bar to front end module retaining bolt (1) and tighten to4 N �m (35 lb in). Repeat for opposite side.





4.Install the ambient temperature sensor (1) by squeezing locking tabs and pushing sensor.

5.Remove the washer solvent container. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Filler Tube Replacement .

6.Install the front energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .

7.Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

8.Install the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement Service and Repair .

9.Lower the vehicle.
