Primary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Tensioner Removal




1. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner to cylinder block retaining bolts (1).
2. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2).




3. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner bolts (3) from the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2) and gasket (1).

Important: The primary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket (1) must be discarded whenever the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2) has been removed from the cylinder block.


4. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket (1) from the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2).
Discard the gasket.
5. Inspect the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner mounting surface on the engine block for burrs or any defects that may degrade the sealing of the NEW primary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket.
