Power Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: With the ignition OFF and the brakes cool, apply the brakes 3-5 times, or until the brake pedal becomes firm, in order to deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.


1. Deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.




2. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector (1).





Important: Pull the brake booster vacuum sensor (2) towards the front of the vehicle to remove.


3. Remove the brake booster vacuum sensor (2) from the brake booster (1).
4. Remove the brake booster vacuum sensor rubber grommet (3) from the brake booster (1).
Discard the brake booster vacuum sensor rubber grommet.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the NEW booster vacuum sensor rubber grommet (3) to the brake booster (1).

Important: Push the brake booster vacuum sensor (2) to install it to the brake booster (1).


2. Install the brake booster vacuum sensor (2) to the brake booster (1).




3. Connect the brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector (1).
