Evaporative Emissions Hose: Service and Repair




Evaporative Emission Hoses/Pipes Replacement - Engine

Removal Procedure

Caution: Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:

* The fuel pipe connections
* The hose connections
* The areas surrounding the connections

1. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve any vapor pressure.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) engine tube (1) from the EVAP chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




5. Disconnect the EVAP engine tube (2) from the EVAP valve solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
6. Remove the EVAP engine tube (2) from the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the EVAP engine tube (2) to the EVAP valve solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




2. Connect the EVAP engine tube (1) to the EVAP chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
3. Install the oil filler cap.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
