EVAP Canister Vent Valve Inspection

EVAP Canister Vent Valve Removal and Installation
1) Check EVAP canister vent valve for damage.
2) Check resistance of vent valve.

Resistance between two terminals
25 - 30 ohms at 20 °C, 68 °F

Resistance between terminal and valve body
1 Mohms or higher





If resistance is as specified, proceed to next operation check.

If not, replace.
3) Blow air into nozzle "A". Air should come out of nozzle "B".
4) Connect 12 V - battery to vent valve terminals. In this state, blow air into nozzle "A". Air should not come out of nozzle "B".

If check result is not as described, replace vent valve.
