Wheel Inspection

Visual Inspection

Inspect wheels for cracks, bends, dents, wheel nut hole deformation or other damages.

Replace any wheel with defect(s).

Wheel Runout Inspection

1) Check the wheel bearing for looseness. Front Wheel Bearing Check
/ Rear Wheel Bearing Check
2) Install wheel (either with or without tire) on wheel balancer or other appropriate equipment.
3) Set dial gage applying its plunger to wheel at angles "a" and "b" as shown in figure.
4) Give wheel a full turn slowly and record the maximum dial gauge reading for each of the angle "a" (lateral runout) measurement and the angle "b" (radial runout) measurement.
5) Replace wheel if either or both of the recorded dial gauge readings exceed the following limits.
