DTC Confirmation Procedure

P0842 / P0843

NOTE:

- If other DTC than P0842 or P0843 is newly detected during this "DTC Confirmation Procedure", troubleshoot the newly detected DTC in first.
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this procedure.

- Battery voltage > 10.5 V
- CVT fluid temperature at engine start ≥ -20 °C (-4 °F)

1) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON", and leave ignition mode in "ON" for 10 sec.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "CVT System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to CVT System Check CVT System Check.

2. Primary pressure sensor signal circuit and ground circuit check

Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
- Resistance of "A1" and "C1" circuits: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance of "A1" circuit between "C142" connector and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and each terminal at "C142" connector: infinity
- Voltage of "A1" and "C1" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

3. Primary pressure sensor check

Connect "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
Check voltage between "A1" circuit and ground. Inspection of TCM and Its Circuits

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace primary pressure sensor (valve body assembly). Service and Repair
