Security Indicator Light Circuit
THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM: Security Indicator Light Circuit
Security Indicator Light Circuit
DESCRIPTION
When the theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state, the security indicator will flash continuously if the immobilizer system is set, or not illuminate if the immobilizer system is not set. When the theft deterrent system is in the armed state, the immobilizer system is automatically set and the security indicator will flash continuously. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state or alarm sounding state, the multiplex network body ECU causes the security indicator to be illuminated.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the B6 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the C7 meter connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - BODY GROUND, POWER SOURCE)
(a) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER
(a) Reconnect the C7 meter connector.
(b) Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the combination meter, and check the lighting condition of the security indicator.
Standard :
NOTICE:
- If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator will not come on.
- Voltage of more than 12 V will damage the combination meter.
- If the voltage is too low, the security indicator will not come on.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
