VSC Warning Light Does Not Come ON
VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM:
VSC Warning Light does not Come ON
DESCRIPTION
If the skid control ECU stores a DTC to shut down VSC and TRAC operation, the VSC warning light comes on in the combination meter.
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to VSC Warning Light Remains ON (VSC Warning Light Remains ON).
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Programming and Relearning).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK VSC WARNING LIGHT
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select "VSC Warning Light" in the Active Test and operate the VSC warning light using Techstream.
ABS / VSC / TRAC:
(d) Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC warning light are indicated on the combination meter when using Techstream.
OK:
The VSC warning light turns on or off in accordance with Techstream.
HINT: If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (Problem Symptoms Table).
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
OK -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and the combination meter connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector and the combination meter connector.
(b) Check the combination meter (How To Proceed With Troubleshooting).
OK:
The combination meter is normal.
HINT: If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (Problem Symptoms Table).
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
