Repair Instruction - Initialization
INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION
INITIALIZATION
NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system(s) after the terminal is reconnected.
1. INITIALIZE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR
NOTE: Resetting the power window motor (initializing the pulse sensor) is necessary when the battery terminal is disconnected; when the power window regulator master switch, power window regulator switch, wire harness, power window regulator and power window motor are replaced or removed/installed; or when the FR DOOR fuse, ECU-B fuse and ECU-IG No.1 fuse are replaced. AUTO operation function, jam protection function and remote operation function via the power window regulator master switch do not operate without resetting.
(a) Ignition switch on (IG).
(b) (Power window can be partially or fully open.)
(c) Close the power window by holding the Auto UP knob ON.
(d) Continue to hold the Auto UP knob ON a minimum of 1 second after the power window completely closes.
(e) Release the Auto UP knob.
HINT: Front passenger must be initialized from actual multiplex network switch assembly. After initialization operation (from the multiplex network master switch assembly to the multiplex network switch assembly) will be allowed.
2. INITIALIZATION OF SLIDING ROOF MOTOR
(a) The sliding roof AUTO operation and the jam protection function may not operate normally if the battery is disconnected/reconnected, replaced or recharged. Initialize the sliding roof system using the method below.
(1) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
(2) Initialize the sliding roof by pressing and holding the TILT UP switch until the roof glass tilts upward fully (the roof glass automatically tilts downward slightly after fully tilting upward).
(3) Release the switch.
HINT: If the battery terminal is disconnected, the sliding roof control ECU may not detect the position of the roof glass. If the sliding roof AUTO operation is still disabled even after the sliding roof drive gear has been initialized, the hall IC may be malfunctioning. The hall IC is built into the sliding roof drive gear and detects the roof glass position.
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive gear assembly (sliding roof control ECU).
