VSC Warning Light Remains ON

BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (for BOSCH Made): VSC Warning Light Remains ON

VSC Warning Light Remains ON

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU communicates with the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. If the ECU stores a DTC, the master caution indicator light will illuminate, and the DTC will be displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter (models with multi-information display). On models without a multi-information display, the VSC warning light will come on when the skid control ECU stores a DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Check the condition of each related circuit connector before troubleshooting Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Vehicle Stability Control System (for BOSCH Made).
Result:

B -- INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED
(a) Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.
OK:
The connector is securely connected.
NG -- CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK BATTERY
(a) Check the battery voltage.
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
NG -- CHECK AND REPLACE CHARGING SYSTEM OR BATTERY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Perform "Active Test" of the combination meter assembly using Techstream Meter / Gauge System.
(c) Check VSC warning (multi-information display)/VSC warning light (without multi-information display) operation.
OK:
The VSC warning (multi-information display) or VSC warning light turns on or off in accordance with Techstream.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
