Power Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The power switch illumination is controlled by the main body ECU. The operation and condition of this control are described below.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn Techstream on.
(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
(e) Check the operation.

Main Body:





OK:
The power switch illumination comes on.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT POWER SWITCH
(a) Remove the power switch.




(b) Apply the battery voltage to the power switch.
(c) Check that the illumination comes on.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE POWER SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR




(a) Disconnect the E7 main body ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the E52 power switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
