CAN COMMUNICATION: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: Main Body ECU Communication Stop Mode
Main Body ECU Communication Stop Mode
DESCRIPTION
HINT: "Main Body" refers to the circuit that includes the main body ECU.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- Turn the power switch off before measuring the resistances of CAN bus main wires and CAN bus branch wires.
- After the power switch is turned off, check that the key reminder warning system and lighting system are not operating.
- Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the power switch, any other switches, or the doors. If any doors need to be opened in order to check connectors, open the doors and leave them open.
HINT: Operating the power switch, any other switches, or a door triggers related ECU and sensor communication on the CAN. This communication will cause the resistance value to change.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (MAIN BODY ECU BRANCH WIRE)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect the main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO MAIN BODY ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
(a) Disconnect the E8 main body ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(c) Disconnect the E6 and E7 main body ECU connectors.
(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
(e) Reconnect the main body ECU connectors.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
