SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the power switch is turned off.
(b) Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.





(c) Install 4 new clips and 4 new spacers to the curtain shield airbag assembly as shown in the illustration.
- Do not push the pin into the clip.
- Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct direction.
- Make sure that the spacers are not damaged, engaged securely, and installed in the correct direction.

(d) Install the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 5 new bolts.





Torque: 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8ft-lbf)
NOTICE: Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.





(e) Install the curtain shield airbag assembly to the body with the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE: Securely push the pin in the clip.

(f) Mark the clips.
HINT: Be sure to mark the clips to leave a record of replacement.

(g) Connect the connector.
NOTICE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

58. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat)
59. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTICE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

60. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK
(a) Perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check Programming and Relearning.
61. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
62. INSPECT SLIDE ADJUSTER LOCK (for Manual Seat)
63. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) Installation
