THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function): B2275: STSW Monitor Malfunction
DTC B2275 - STSW Monitor Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when there is an open, short, or any other problem in the engine start request output circuit inside the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) or in the external circuit.
HINT: When the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) is replaced with a new one and the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal is connected, the power source mode becomes the IG-ON mode. When the battery is removed and reinstalled, the power source mode that was selected when the battery was removed is restored.
After the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) is replaced, perform the registration procedures for the engine immobiliser system Engine Immobiliser System (W/ Smart Key System).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Smart Key System (for Start Function).
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) After 15 seconds have elapsed, check if the trouble occurs again.
OK:
DTC B2273 is not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - ECM)
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - ECM)
(a) Disconnect the E52 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the A50 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - ECM)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
(a) Reconnect the E52 connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
OK -- REPLACE ECM
