INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat)
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)
3. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat) Removal
4. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat) Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Seat) Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)
7. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat) Removal

(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
37. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)





(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
(b) Cut off the clip [A].
(c) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
(d) Remove the clip [A] from the vehicle body.





(e) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
(1) Cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

38. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

39. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)





(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
(b) Cut off the clip [A].
(c) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish RH.
(d) Remove the clip [A] from the vehicle body.





(e) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
(1) Cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

(a) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

(a) Remove the 2 screws.
(b) Using a clip remover, disengage the clip, and remove the upper center pillar garnish LH.
57. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides, and remove the roof side inner garnish assembly LH.

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.





(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the visor assembly LH.
(c) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

80. REMOVE FRONT ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws.
NOTE: Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT: Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.

(b) Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.





(c) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front assist grip sub-assembly.
(d) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

81. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws.
NOTE: Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT: Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.

(b) Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.





(c) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the rear assist grip sub-assembly.
(d) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

82. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
83. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR COVER (w/ EC Mirror) Removal
84. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER





(a) Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

85. REMOVE SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the sun roof opening trim moulding.
86. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)
(a) Disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar RH.
(b) Disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly connectors and disengage the clamp from the rear pillar RH.
(c) Remove the bolt and disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly from the rear pillar RH.
(d) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
(e) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector from the instrument panel junction block.
(f) Remove the 3 clips.









(g) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the cabin through the front passenger door.
NOTE: Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.

87. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)
(a) w/ EC Mirror:
(1) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar RH.
(c) Disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly connectors and disengage the clamp from the rear pillar RH.
(d) Remove the bolt and disconnect the amplifier antenna assembly from the rear pillar RH.
(e) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
(f) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors from the instrument panel junction block.
(g) Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.
(h) Remove the 3 clips.









(i) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the cabin through the front passenger door.
NOTE: Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.

88. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD (for TMC Made without Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the 2 No. 1 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.





89. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD (for TMMC, NUMMI Made without Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the 2 No. 1 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.





90. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the 2 No. 2 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.





91. REMOVE NO. 3 ROOF SILENCER PAD (for TMC Made without Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the No. 3 roof silencer pad from the roof headlining assembly.





92. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL SILENCER PAD LH (w/o Sliding Roof)
(a) Remove the roof side rail silencer pad LH from the roof headlining assembly.





93. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL SILENCER PAD RH (w/o Sliding Roof)

(a) Remove the adhesive tape from the roof headlining assembly.
(b) Remove the No. 1 roof wire from the roof headlining assembly.





100. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE (w/ Sliding Roof)
(a) Disengage the 3 clamps.
(b) Remove the adhesive tape from the roof headlining assembly.
(c) Remove the No. 1 roof wire from the roof headlining assembly.
