DTC B1500 - Fuel Sender Open Detected
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when the combination meter detects a fuel sender gauge malfunction via the direct line.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT COMBINATION METER
(a) Disconnect the E55 connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY)
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY)
(a) Check the harness and connector (for 2WD).
(1) Disconnect the L13 connector.
(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(b) Check the harness and connector (for 4WD).
(1) Disconnect the L12 and L13 connectors.
(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FUEL SUCTION PUMP AND GAUGE
(a) Remove the fuel suction pump and gauge.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUEL SUCTION PUMP AND GAUGE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (for 2WD).
(1) Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.
(2) Check that the float moves smoothly between E and F.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(b) Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (for 4WD).
(1) Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.
(2) Check that the float moves smoothly between E and F.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

C -- REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 2ZR-FE)
B -- REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE)
