FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (for 2WD): INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
- The following procedure listed is for the LH side.
1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH
(a) Temporarily install the front lower suspension arm LH to the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.
NOTE: Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
HINT: Fully tighten the 2 bolts after stabilizing the suspension.
2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH (for Manual Transaxle)
(a) Temporarily install the front lower suspension arm LH to the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.
NOTE: Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
HINT: Fully tighten the 2 bolts after stabilizing the suspension.
3. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
4. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH Installation
5. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.
6. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation
7. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.
8. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
9. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.
10. CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
11. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Installation
12. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
13. INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Installation
14. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
15. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
(a) Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down several times to stabilize the front suspension. Raise the vehicle.
16. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH
(a) Fully tighten bolt A.
Torque: 137 Nm (1397 kgf-cm, 101 ft-lbf)
NOTE: The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.
(b) Fully tighten bolt B.
Torque: 137 Nm (1397 kgf-cm, 101 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
- The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.
- Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten bolt B with the nut secured.
17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
