E351 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE Removal
4. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR





(a) Remove the 3 nuts and the front No. 1 floor heat insulator.
6. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX Removal
10. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE Removal
11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
12. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL Removal
16. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever assembly.
(b) Disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever assembly.





(c) Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.
NOTE: Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.





(d) Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.
NOTE: Do not rotate the nut excessively as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.





(e) Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 transmission control cables from the control cable bracket*1.
(f) Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 transmission control cables from the transaxle*2.





(g) Remove the nut and transmission control cable assembly.





(h) Remove the 2 nuts and transmission control cable assembly.
