Installation








BRAKE: BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake master cylinder, and tighten the lock nut.
HINT: After adjusting the brake pedal height, torque the lock nut.

(b) Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to 2 new grommets.
(c) Install the No. 1 brake master cylinder union and 2 grommets to the brake master cylinder with the screw.
Torque: 1.8 Nm (18 kgf-cm, 16 in-lbf)





(d) Using SST, install the brake tube and 2-way to the brake master cylinder.
SST: 09023-00101
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)





(e) Placing the gasket inbetween, install the brake master cylinder to the bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)





(f) Using SST, connect the No. 2 front brake tube to the clamp and brake master cylinder.
SST: 09023-00101
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)





(g) Using SST, install the No. 1 front brake tube.
SST: 09023-00101
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
(h) Install the bolt to the actuator bracket.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)





(i) Install the 2 reservoir tube hoses and hold them there with the 4 clips.





(j) Connect the push rod clevis to the brake pedal with the brake master cylinder push rod pin.
(k) Install the clip and brake pedal return spring.
2. INSTALL INVERTER WITH CONVERTER
(a) Install the inverter with converter Installation.
HINT: Refer to the procedures from the installation of the inverter with converter up until the installation of the engine under cover LH.

3. INSTALL OUTER FRONT COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the outer front cowl top panel with the 7 bolts.
Torque: 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 57 in-lbf)





(b) Install the 3 clamps to the outer front cowl top panel.





(c) Install the engine room No. 2 R/B with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)
4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the windshield wiper motor and link Installation.
HINT: Refer to the procedures from the installation of the windshield wiper motor and link assembly up until the installation of the front wiper arm LH/RH.

5. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
6. BLEED AIR FROM MASTER CYLINDER Service and Repair
7. BLEED AIR FROM MASTER CYLINDER/STROKE SIMULATOR Service and Repair
8. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
(a) Adjust the brake fluid level to the MAX line with the power switch on (IG).
NOTE: The brake fluid level must always be adjusted to the MAX line.

10. CHECK AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT Adjustments
11. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY Adjustments
12. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE Adjustments
13. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
14. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY Installation
15. PERFORM SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform the brake system initialization Initialization.
16. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC
(a) Check and clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
