Brake Master Cylinder








BRAKE: BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
NOTE: The DTC may be stored after inspection. Be sure to clear the DTC and check that a normal system code is output after the inspection is finished.

1. INSPECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
(a) Check battery voltage.
Standard battery voltage:
10 to 14 V (during engine stop)
(b) Connect the Techstream and pedal effort gauge.
(1) Connect the pedal effort gauge.
(2) Move the shift lever to the P position. Apply the parking brake and connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(3) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(4) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(c) Check operation w/o brake booster.
(1) Check and adjust brake pedal height Adjustments.
(2) Check pedal free play Adjustments.
(3) Check pedal reserve distance Adjustments.
(4) Turn on the Techstream and enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Utility / Electronically Controlled Brake system Utility / Electronically Controlled Brake system Invalid to prohibit the brake control.
(5) Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List "Master Cylinder Sensor", "Master Cylinder Sensor 2", "Stroke Sensor" and "Stroke Sensor 2".
(6) Check the value output from "Master Cylinder Sensor", "Master Cylinder Sensor 2", "Stroke Sensor" and "Stroke Sensor 2" by depressing the brake pedal.

(7) Finish the brake control prohibition on the Techstream.
