Installation








AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE CARRIER (for AWD): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Temporarily install the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the outboard joint boot.
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor rotor.
- Keep the speed sensor rotor free of foreign matter.





(b) Install the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 290 Nm (2957 kgf-cm, 214ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the outboard joint boot.
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor rotor.
- Keep the speed sensor rotor free of foreign matter.
- Do not rotate the drive shaft with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly removed.
- When installing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.
HINT: Insert the bolts from the rear side.





(c) Fully tighten the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly and the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 112 Nm (1141 kgf-cm, 82ft-lbf)
NOTICE: Since stopper nuts are used, tighten the bolts.

2. INSTALL REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY Installation
3. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Installation
4. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY Installation
5. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR Installation
6. INSTALL REAR DISC Installation
7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Reassembly
8. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT Installation
9. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf)
10. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation
11. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment Service and Repair.
12. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check for the speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
