Speaker Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The sound signals amplified by the stereo component amplifier are sent to the speakers from the stereo component amplifier through this circuit.
If there is a short in this circuit, the stereo component amplifier detects it and stops output to the speakers.
Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component or speakers.
If a short is detected in the speaker circuit, no sound can be heard from the speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the E12 stereo component amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the E15 stereo component amplifier connector.
(c) Disconnect the H1 and I1 speaker connectors.
(d) Disconnect the E25, E26 and E27 speaker connectors.
(e) Disconnect the E23 and E24 speaker connectors.
(f) Disconnect the J4 and K4 speaker connectors.
(g) Disconnect the J5, K5, L11 and M17 speaker connectors.
(h) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(i) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 3 speakers and the front No. 2 speakers to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(j) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 4 speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(k) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(l) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(m) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(n) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 3 speakers and the stereo component amplifier to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(o) Measure the resistance between each speaker and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:

2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE: The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER
(a) Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
Standard:
Malfunction disappears.
HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker.
- If there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.
NG -- INSPECT FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER
OK -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER
4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE: The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE: The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
NOTICE: The speaker should not be removed to check resistance.
