AWD Warning Light does not Come ON

DESCRIPTION

The AWD control ECU is connected to the combination meter via the CAN communication system.
If the AWD control ECU stores any DTCs which are related to the active torque control 4WD system, the AWD warning light comes on in the combination meter.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Check the condition of each related circuit connector before troubleshooting Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output.
Result:





HINT: When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding sensor.

B -- REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT AWD WARNING LIGHT
(a) Disconnect the AWD control ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Check that the AWD warning light comes on.
OK:
AWD warning light comes on.

NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- REPLACE AWD CONTROL ECU
