Outer Rear View Mirror (for Sedan)

MIRROR: OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (for Sedan): INSPECTION

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Check the operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage to the outer rear view mirror and check the operation of the outer rear view mirror.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.





(b) w/ Mirror heater:
Check the resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard Resistance:






If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(2) Connect the cable from the negative battery (-) terminal to terminal 1 and the positive battery (+) terminal to terminal 2, then check that the mirror becomes warm.
OK:
Mirror becomes warm.
HINT: It takes a short time for the mirror to become warm.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Check the operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage to the outer rear view mirror and check the operation of the outer rear view mirror.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.





(b) w/ Mirror heater:
Check the resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard Resistance:






If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(2) Connect the cable from the negative battery (-) terminal to terminal 1 and the positive battery (+) terminal to terminal 2, then check that the mirror becomes warm.
OK:
Mirror becomes warm.
HINT: It takes a short time for the mirror to become warm.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
