DRL Relay Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the engine is started, signals are transmitted from the generator to the running light relay assembly, causing the headlights to illuminate.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-B, ECU-IG)
(a) Remove the ECU-B fuse from the engine room relay block.
(b) Remove the ECU-IG fuse from the main body ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
(d) Reinstall the ECU-B and ECU-IG fuses.
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUSE - RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage.
Standard voltage:





(c) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY - HEAD LIGHT)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage.
Standard voltage:





(c) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY - HEAD LIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage.
Standard voltage:





(c) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GENERATOR - RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage.
Standard voltage:





(c) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE SWITCH)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the D21 parking brake switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:





(d) Reconnect the parking brake switch connector.
(e) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RUNNING LIGHT RELAY - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the D9 running light relay assembly connector.
(b) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reconnect the running light relay assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE RUNNING LIGHT RELAY ASSEMBLY
