Installation

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING WHEEL: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL PAD ATTACHING SCREW

(a) Install the 2 steering wheel pad attaching screws to the lower steering wheel boss cover.





2. INSTALL LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly.





(b) Install the 2 screws.





3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System) Installation

4. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) Installation

5. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH LH (w/ Steering Pad Switch) Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/ Steering Pad Switch)

(a) Engage the 2 pins to install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament to the steering wheel sub-assembly.





(b) Install the screw.





7. TURN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD

8. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE Installation

9. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.





(b) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

10. INSTALL STEERING PAD Installation

11. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

12. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

13. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the cable has been disconnected from the battery terminal for at least 2 seconds before reconnecting the cable.
* Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal with the front wheels facing straight ahead.
15. INSPECT STEERING PAD Installation

16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
