SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The following procedure is for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

HINT
Refer to the procedure up to Remove Roof Headlining Assembly Removal.

3. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
If the curtain shield airbag assembly is removed, replace it with a new one.

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Disconnect the curtain shield airbag connector.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.





(d) Remove the 4 pins as shown in the illustration.





(e) Remove the 5 bolts.





(f) Disengage the 4 clips and separate the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 4 spacers.

HINT
Insert screw driver to (A) as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip.

(g) Disengage the 5 hooks and remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.
