Installation





REAR SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STUD BOLT

(a) Install the 2 stud bolts.





Torque : 17 Nm (175 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION (for 4WD) Installation

3. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Installation

4. INSTALL NO. 6 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for 4WD)

(a) Install the No. 6 exhaust pipe support bracket with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 22 Nm (224 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)

5. INSTALL HOLE PLUG

(a) Install the 9 hole plugs.

6. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR

7. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BUSHING Installation

8. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 STABILIZER BAR BRACKET Installation

9. INSTALL UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

10. INSTALL UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

11. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 2WD)

(a) Raise the rear suspension member using a jack and wooden block.

(b) Install the rear suspension member with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.





Torque : 105 Nm (1071 kgf-cm, 77 ft-lbf)

12. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 4WD)

(a) Raise the rear suspension member using a jack and wooden block.

(b) Install the rear suspension member with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.





Torque : 105 Nm (1071 kgf-cm, 77 ft-lbf)

(c) Engage the 6 clamps.





(d) Connect the wire harness connector and the hose.

13. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (for LH Side) Installation

14. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (for RH Side)

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

15. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly LH to the rear suspension member with the bolt and the nut.





NOTICE:
When installing the bolt, stop the nut from rotating and tighten the bolt.

(b) Temporarily install the 3 bolts and fully tighten the 3 bolts in order from 1 to 3.





Torque : 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)

16. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

17. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER BRACE Installation

18. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT SNAP RING LH (for 4WD) Installation

19. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD) Installation

20. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT SNAP RING RH (for 4WD)

30. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation

32. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)





NOTICE:
Do not twist the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly when installing it.

(b) Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly when installing it.

33. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

34. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE (for LH Side) Reassembly

35. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE HOLD DOWN SPRING PIN (for LH Side) Reassembly

36. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE HOLD DOWN SPRING PIN (for LH Side) Reassembly

41. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE HOLD DOWN COMPRESSION SPRING (for LH Side) Reassembly

58. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION Reassembly

59. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE LH (for 2WD)

(a) Install the rear speed sensor wire LH with the bolt and nut.





Bolt - Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire LH when installing it.

(b) Install the rear speed sensor wire LH with the bolt.





Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire LH when installing it.

60. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE RH (for 2WD)

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

61. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE LH (for 2WD) Installation

62. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE RH (for 2WD)

63. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (for 4WD)

(a) Install the rear speed sensor LH with the bolt and nut.





Bolt - Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the rear speed sensor LH when installing it.

(b) Install the rear speed sensor LH to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with the bolt.





Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
* Keep the speed sensor clean.
* Do not twist the sensor wire LH when installing it.

64. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH (for 4WD)

75. INSPECT AND ADJUST TRANSFER OIL (for 4WD)
