Removal





BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Removal

2. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Removal

3. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS Removal

4. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose.





5. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.

6. REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET

(a) Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.

7. REMOVE NO. 5 FRONT BRAKE TUBE

(a) Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the No. 5 front brake tube from the front brake flexible hose LH.





(b) Remove the grommet and No. 5 front brake tube from the body.





8. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the brake lines from the body.





(b) Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly from the body.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake lines or fuel lines.

9. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

(a) Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.

10. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Loosen the lock nut and remove the brake master cylinder push rod clevis and lock nut from the brake booster assembly.
